Red Hot Romance at The Four Seasons {Morgan+ Jonathan}

I don’t even know where to begin with how much I love this bride!  During our very first meeting, she informed me that she wasn’t the typical bride and wanted to rock out this wedding- we did just that!  Together with the fabulous Tina Nader, we changed the Ballroom into a rock concert.  Bill with Edge did an amazing job of doing an edgy black and white theme with the pop of red being the Bride!!!

The civil ceremony was held in Supreme Court Justice Ruth Ginsberg's chambers with only a handful of family and friends.

The day of the religious ceremony and reception, the bridal party got hair and makeup at George's Salon by the fabulous Carl Ray and Ishmael.

The couple saw each other for photos by the canal and shared a few special moments.

The magical ceremony featuring a chuppah of hundreds of paper butterflies was designed by Bill at Edge Floral Design.

The chuppah featured a back wall of white ledges adorned with candles and small vases.

 The gorgeous ceremony Part Deux!

On to the reception . . . and a creative escort card display.

The Four Seasons ballroom draped in black and white and set for dinner with square black lacquer tables, round tables with fluttery white linens and long black tables!

The room sparkled with lots of glass and candlelight and lighting by John Farr Lighting!

A bright butterfly cake and elegant black menu cards on top of glittering base plates.

The uber-talented rock band Z02 came down from New York to get this crowd going!  The bride even got up and sang two songs after a quick dress change!

Late night sweet treats!

Thanks to the talented team that helped me make this dream wedding a reality! You were all amazing!

Our Favorite Wedding Venues for Same-Sex Weddings!

We love planning weddings for our LGBT couples! Of course, we've had our same-sex couples get married at all sorts of venues from large hotels to private homes but here are some of our favorite LGBT-friendly spots in the D.C. area.

The Anderson House

Intimate and elegant, this downtown historic home is perfect for gatherings under 100 guests and is filled with gorgeous details from crystal chandeliers to marble columns to intricate ceilings.

Longview Gallery

Modern and edgy, this art gallery can host seated affairs as well as fun cocktail parties. We love the exposed beams and the outdoor space behind the gallery.

The Ritz-Carlton Georgetown

This hidden gem in Georgetown has a charming ballroom perfect for weddings under 100 guests but also has a lovely garden for ceremonies or cocktail receptions.

The Hay-Adams Hotel

You can't beat the location of the Hay-Adams or the view from the Top of the Hay. We love the character of each of the hotel's event spaces, from the richness of the intimate John Hay room to the airiness of the glassed rooftop.

The W Hotel

Another favorite hotel with unbeatable views of The White House. We love the sleek details of this hotel and their lovely Altitude ballroom.

Happy wedding planning from the team at Engaging Affairs!

A Fabulous Fairfax Wedding {Brittany + John}

Brittany and John were such a wonderful couple and we loved being back at The Fairfax Hotel! Such a classic D.C. venue right in the heart of Dupont Circle.

We love "first reveals" when couples see each other for the first time!

A few sweet moments before the ceremony . . .

The classic and elegant ceremony in the ballroom of The Fairfax.

Cocktails in the balcony!

The ballroom set up for the reception. Shades of gold and whites and greens in matte gold trumpet vases. The gold of the floral arrangements played off the hotel's gilded tables and mirrors beautifully!

Doughnut love!

A romantic fist dance . . .

The always fabulous MyDeejay kept guests dancing long into the night!

Congratulations Brittany and John! We loved working with you and were honored to be a part of your day!

And a huge thanks to my wonderful team, especially Michele Frankfurter for the images that truly capture the emotion of the day. You all made the day amazing!
